GIBBS, VERNON 
Vernon N. Gibbs, 87, of Desloge, Missouri, died Friday, October 3, 2003, at his home. 
He was born April 27, 1916, the son of Frank and Bertha Gibbs.

Preceding Mr. Gibbs in death were his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include daughter Darlene Stroup of Farmington; brothers James Gibbs, of 
Granite City, Illinois, Harry Gibbs of Park Hills, Missouri, and Bill Gibbs of Farmington; 
sisters Stella Lux of Marquand, Glenda Niswonger and Marie Gibbs of Farmington, and 
Wanda Chandler of Granite City; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and five 
great great grandchildren.
Services were October 6, 2003, at Follis & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Leathers 
officiating. Burial was in Marcus Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Harry Stroup, Jared Quentin, 
Bryan Boyd, Eddie Boyd, Clinton Boyd, and Glen Boyd.
