King, Alvus Eugene – April 18, 1980 Alvus Eugene King, 57, of LaGrange died Friday, April 18. Mr. King was born January 17, 1923 in Flat River, a son of Emma (Berry) King who survives and the late Andre King. He married the former Theresa Lusse on April 1, 1957 in Hernando, Miss. She survives. Survivors include his wife; his mother of Fredericktown; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Edward Baker of White Hall, Ill.; a stepson, Larry Fraser of Roodhouse; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Conyer of St. Louis; a great-niece, Barbara Tanner and many other relatives. Chapel services were held Monday, April 21 at the Davis Funeral Home in LaGrange with the Rev. Dean Collings officiating. Burial was in Marcus Memorial Park in Fredericktown with graveside services by the Rev. John Turner. Pallbearers were Pete McGuire, Tracy Lockman, Ronald Berry, Barney Hatfield, Jim Pickert and Jack Sparrow. Mr. King, who had been employed as a truck driver for more than 28 years, was a member of the VFW chapter in Fredericktown and the Free Will Baptist Church.
