King, Alvus Andrew - 1980 Alvus Andrew King of Fredericktown died Sunday, February 17 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Mr. King, a retired farmer, was 82. Chapel services were held today (Wednesday) at the Berry and Hansmann Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Bundy, the Rev. Willis Guess and the Rev. John Turner officiating. Burial was in Marcus Memorial Park. Mr. King was born October 3, 1897 in Madison County to the late James and Caroline (Young) King. He married the former Emma Berry who survives. Other survivors include a son, Alvus Eugene King of LaGrange; a daughter, Mrs. Freda Pauline Conyer of St Louis; a brother, Samuel King of St. Louis; two sisters, Mrs. Lora Chapman of Jefferson City and Mrs. Elma Francis of Flat River; a grandson Mike Boillot of Des Moines Iowa and a great-granddaughter, Barbara Tawner of Petaloma, Calf. Preceding Mr. King in death were his parents; six half brothers, Ozro, Eli, Clede, Sol, Pinkley and John King and two half sisters, Alice and Emily King. Mr. King was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
