Lloyd LaPlant

Lloyd (Shorty) LaPlant, of Fredericktown, age 90, passed away Monday, 
November 10, 2003 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on April 8, 1913, in Fredericktown, a son of Samuel M. and 
Annie L. (Simmons) LaPlant.

Preceding Mr. LaPlant in death his parents, three brothers, Floyd, Tony, 
and Ralph, two half-brothers Fred and Ed and one half-sister Vernie.

He is survived by three brothers Noby of Fredericktown, Oby of St. Louis, 
and Willard of Fredericktown, one sister Lillie Shell of Fredericktown and 
one half-sister Mamie Berry of Fredericktown.

He was a Retired Army Veteran of WWII serving in Germany, and an active 
member of Fredericktown VFW Post #4320. After his service retirement he 
worked as a machinist for the American Car Foundry in St. Louis for 10 years.

Funeral services will be held November 13, 2003 at the Wilson Funeral Home.
 Interment, with full military honor's under the direction of Ft. Leonard Wood 
will be in Little Vine Cemetery. Rev. Lindell Sikes and Rev. Willard Guess 
will officiate.

Mr. LaPlant's nephews will serve as pallbearers.
