Vetal Nicholas LaPorte, son of the late Ferd and Judith Pauline LaPlante LaPorte, was born at Mine 
LaMotte [Madison County], Mo., February 6, 1881, and died in Flat River, Wednesday, January 6, 1954, 
aged 72 years 11 months. His wife, Nellie, died 31 years ago.

He is survived by three children: Ada (Mrs. Eldon) Kelly, St. Francois; Lillian (Mrs. Lee) Howard, Peoria, Ill., 
and Adolph LaPorte, St. Louis; also a brother, Harry LaPorte, Leadington; three sisters: Miss Elizabeth 
LaPorte and Mrs. William Ste. Gemme, St. Francois, and Mrs. Margaret Mills, Santa Monica, Calif., 
and three grandchildren.

The body is in state at the Raymond Caldwell & Son Funeral Home, and Catholic funeral services will be 
held Saturday morning, January 9.
