Lewis, Melvin Dean
Chapel services for Melvin Dean Lewis of Courtois were held Saturday, January 12 
at Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Davey Welker officiating.  Burial was in Marcus 
Memorial Park.  

Mr. Lewis died January 10, 1985 at the age of 44.  He was born November 8, 1940 
to Leatha Watta and the late Clifford Lewis.  He married the former Helen Holmes who 
survives.  

Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Watts of Fredericktown; a daughter, Mrs. 
Larry (Vicky) Whited of Poplar Bluff; a son, Ernest Lewis of the home; three brothers,
 Ivan Lewis of Fredericktown, Alvin Lewis of Boss and Kenny Lewis of High Ridge; 
three sisters, Cindy Pinkley of Fredericktown, Ernestene Murphy of Poplar Bluff, and 
Delberta Pogue of Bridgeton; one grandson and a host of other relatives.
