Matkin, Lucille
Lucille Matkin of Flat River died Monday, March 7 in Chillicothe.  She was 81.  

She was born January 10, 1902 in Greenville to the late Robert and Hattie 
(Harris) Smith.  She married T. Jeff Matkin who preceded her in death.  

Survivors included two nieces, Mrs. Barbara Cofer of Chillicothe and Mrs. 
Novalyn Goldsmith of Giflord, Conn.; one brother-in-law, Barney Matkin of 
Festus; one sister-in-law, Mary Matkin of Flat River and several nieces 
and grand-nephews.  

Funeral Services were held Saturday, march 12 at Caldwell Funeral Home 
with the Rev. Carl Brandt officiating.  Burial was in Parkview Cemetery.  

Mrs. Matkin was a member of the Taylor Avenue United Methodist Church 
in Flat River and a volunteer at Bonne Terre Hospital, Farmington State 
Hospital and the Blood Bank.  She was a graduate of Cincinnati Conservatory 
of Music.
