Mary M. Matthews

Mary M. Matthews, 94, of Farmington, died Tuesday, November 4, 2003, 
at Parkland Hospital. She was born March 9, 1909, in Clubb, Missouri, the 
daughter of Benton and Kathryn Ward. She married Daniel Joseph Matthews 
of Wayne County, September 10, 1930, in Greenville, Missouri.

Preceding Mrs. Matthews in death were her husband; granddaughter Gayla 
Winslett Stanley; brothers Raney, Shade, Marion, Benton, and Joseph; and 
sisters Ruth, Lettie, and Rachel.

Survivors include her daughter Shirley Winslett of Farmington; grandson-in-law, 
and a great grandson.

Mrs. Matthews was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Farmington, 
and enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, and cooking.

Funeral services were November 7, at Follis & Sons Chapel with the Rev. David 
Bates officiating. Burial was in Marcus Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Odus 
Braolis, Nicholas Stanley, Steve Stanley, Dave Swarzen, Claude Settle, and Dan 
White.
