Umfleet, Myrtle Elizabeth - 1986 Myrtle Elizabeth Umfleet of Fredericktown died January 28.1986 at Madison Memorial Hospital. Retired from Brown Shoe Company, Mrs. Umfleet was 90. Chapel services were held Thursday, January 30 at Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Hartenberger officiating. Burial was in Mine La Motte Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Umfleet, Roy Umfleet, Chuck Umfleet, Ed Halbrook, Dennis Umfleet and Randy Umfleet. Mrs. Umfleet was born August 7, 1895 in Fredericktown to the late Bart and Nancy Tripp. She married Charles Umfleet in Farmington. He preceded her in death. Survivors include five sons, Jack Umfleet, Tim Umfleet, Charles Umfleet, all of Fredericktown, and Norman Umfleet of Texas; three daughters, Florence Halbrook, Nellie Hinkle and Wilma Ammon, all of Fredericktown; three brothers, Lige Tripp and George Tripp, both of Fredericktown, and Joe Tripp of Oklahoma; and several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Mrs. Umfleet in death were her parents, her husband and a daughter, Regina. Mrs. Umfleet was a member of Mine La Motte Free Will Baptist Church.
